In its annual High School All-America Game, MaxPreps football honors the best players from across the country. Players honored with the MVP award have already established themselves as leaders in their respective high school football programs. Xcellent 25 Rankings
MaxPreps, which sponsors the Xcellent 25 national football rankings, has released its latest list of top high school teams. This year, St. Edward is ranked No. 1 in the nation, up from No. 22 a week ago. The Tigers beat St. Joseph Regional 42-0 to move up in the rankings. They have now outscored their opponents by a combined 127 points. Don Bosco Prep has jumped from No. 25 to No. 2 in the rankings after a win over St. Thomas Aquinas. The top teams in Arizona, South Florida, and Texas also make the list.
Schedule
The 2022 high school football season will begin in Hawaii, where seven of the ten teams featured in the MaxPreps Top 25 begin the season. St. John Bosco and Mater Dei lead the way, with St. Frances Academy and IMG Academy rounding out the top four. The teams play in the Trinity League. A few teams have non-league games scheduled, but they all should be competitive, regardless of their league affiliation.
