UFC 276 Highlights – Israel Adesanya Vs Jared Cannonier
Earlier this month, the Fight Night card in Toronto featured an intense battle between two of the most talented fighters in the sport, Alex Pereira and Jared Cannonier. They faced off in a high-energy clash that was full of excitement and drama, with the winner securing a place in the winner’s circle. Here’s a look at the highlights of the fight.
Israel Adesanya
MMA’s middleweight king Israel Adesanya is set to defend his title against Jared Cannonier in the main event of UFC 276. The bout will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card starts at 10 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN+. The early prelims will start at 6 p.m. The fight will be the final fight of the main card.
Israel Adesanya is the undefeated Middleweight Champion and will defend his title for the fifth time against Jared Cannonier. This will be Cannonier’s first fight at middleweight, though he has had experience at both heavyweight and light heavyweight.
Adesanya is a taller and cleaner striker than Cannonier. He also lands more significant strikes per minute and wins by decision more often than Cannonier. He also absorbs less significant strikes. This could be a difference that will decide the fight.
Jan Blachowicz
Despite losing the light heavyweight title to Glover Teixeira in October, Jan Blachowicz is looking to get back on the winning side of things. He’ll take on Jared Cannonier at UFC on FOX 26 on December 16.
Although Blachowicz has lost to some of the elite fighters in the division, he’s also been defeated by opponents outside of the top ten. This gives him more ways to win than most other fighters in the division.
Cannonier has won two of his last three bouts, but hasn’t quite put together a full skill set. He’s still developing his arsenal, but he’s shown some power in his punches. He’s scored six of his eight stoppages in the first round.
The fight will be televised on FOX Sports 1. There will be six bouts on the undercard, with two being lightweight matches. The card will also feature rising English star Paddy Pimblett, who has finished all three of his fights by second round.
Fight of the Night
Despite the loss to Glover Teixeira in October 2021, Jan Blachowicz still had a chance to win a second title in his career. But he couldn’t come up with a win against his opponent Magomed Ankalaev.
Ankalaev is a complete fighter with a high level of skill, but he’s often hampered by his top control game. If Blachowicz wants to win this fight, he will have to establish a jab and kick that will allow him to pressure Ankalaev.
Ankalaev will be tough to beat in the middle of the Octagon, but he must avoid the punching power of Blachowicz. He will also need to win the kicking match.
Ankalaev is able to land hard kicks without giving up space. However, he needs to be careful of Blachowicz’s ability to use his right leg to launch the kick to his body.
Alex Pereira vs Jared Cannonier
MMA fighter Alex Pereira is a Brazilian legend who has a lot of experience in kickboxing. He is also a former Glory kickboxing champion. In his latest fight, he knocked out No 4-ranked Sean Strickland.
In the UFC, he has won three straight fights. He defeated Derek Bruson at UFC 271, then won a unanimous decision over Bruno Silva at UFC Vegas 50. He followed that up with a second round knockout over Andreas Michailidis at UFC 268.
He has also been in a rivalry with Israel Adesanya since their days in kickboxing. The two have fought twice in kickboxing, and Alex Pereira won both of these fights. He is hoping that he can beat Adesanya in the octagon.
He is a former 185lb title challenger. He has a big frame, and he may be able to take the fight to the ground. He has six KOs in the UFC.
Highlights

The former light heavyweight champion Jared Cannonier is currently 15-6 with 10 KOs. He has fought 14 times in the UFC. He has won five of his last six fights. During his last fight, he defeated Derek Brunson by KO/TKO at 4:29 of the second round.
Jared Cannonier made his UFC debut on January 3, 2015, and lost to Shawn Jordan by KO/TKO at 2:57 of the first round. He then won five straight fights, including a victory over Derek Brunson at UFC 271. He had a 7-0-0 record before he made his UFC debut.
